Japecake, on the other hand, is a humorist whose writing has appeared in MAD magazine, SPY magazine, Oddfellow magazine, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Defenestration, and elsewhere. I found this blog on a boring Saturday afternoon. My Saturday wasn’t boring after I’d read a few of your posts. Thanks 🙂

You should start a Japecake Twitter feed, if you haven’t already. I think daily witticisms from you would be gold in 140 characters.

I’ve been giving it some thought for a while, but I’m pretty ambivalent about Twitter (where I have, in fact, a “parked,” dormant Japecake account). I really want to spend less, not more, time at the computer. But if I ever decide to do it, there’ll be some kind of notice on Japecake. Thanks for asking. And reading.

Thank you. Would you say you’re influenced by Hemingway, by any chance?

I wouldn’t say that necessarily….but I suppose my writing style can occasionally be Hemingwayesque.

      • October 9, 2012 10:09 am

It certainly wasn’t a criticism. In fact, I’m delighted that it isn’t Dan Brownesque.
